Vibration/pulsing through the clutch pedal - Vectra B

Hi,

Was looking for some help with this - read lots of threads but not seen a conclusion 🙁

Symptoms
When the clutch is very very slightly pressed, I can feel a pulsing vibration through it
When pulling away it sometimes feels like I need to feed it extra revs as there is a rough spot on the clutch action
Clutch does not slip at all - car pulls right through the rev range
Gear changes are super smooth, every gear engages and disengages fine

Thoughts
Flywheel - does the z22se (vectra b) have a dual mass flywheel and does this sound like flywheel problems?
Engine mount - heard that the gearbox or front engine can produce what I'm experiencing (which makes sense)?

Can you help please - this is the last thing before my Vectra is perfect 🙂

Cant exactly help diagnose but have same trouble.

Engine mounts are shagged yet again for definate. Sometimes hard to get gears for last 50k+ more so last 10k.
Engine really rocks and rotates in gear handbrake on, bonnet up etc visually if thats anything to go by Plus break Ilock flexi joints like no tomorrow 3 to 5 months.
Did replace a driveshaft the other week, that had similar symptoms.

The vibrations are getting worse each day so looks like something is looming - can I gather some thoughts as to if this is a clutch, flywheel, engine mount or some other problem please drool.gif

Symptoms noticed so far
Vibrations through the clutch pedal however starting to feel a very fine vibration through the brake/accel pedals - guessing this is going to get worse over time
Vibrations are around 50% worse upon acceleration
Pushing down around 1/2 inch on the clutch pedal results in a fuzzy vibration through the clutch pedal
Clutch does not slip
Gear changes are smooth, gear stick movement and gear engagement is 100% good

Your thoughts would be much appreciated please

on an astra we have a little damper thingy that comes out of the bulkhead at the master cylinder that could be shagged if you have one?

Is this the torsion bar?

Don't thing they are on the Vectra. By the way the acceleration is being affected, this has to be something fairly substantial 🙁

no i mean the part of your clutch line.

please excuse the way mine is mounted in this picture this is a tempory measure as it gets in the way of my turbo, and im still trying to work out a pernament solution. it normally protrudes straight from the boss on the bulkhead.

also please excuse my child like windows paint skills, you wouldnt think i do advanced 3d modelling and cnc programming all day!!! baby..

Thanks mate, will check it all out... Haha, mate I used to programme CNC mill, lathes, routers and punches, typically Fagor, Fanuc, Siemans and Morbidelli machinery, using Alphacam and SolidaCAM with NC post processors

Now I work in Project Management - miss the old days 🙂

Help please...

I can easily push a allen key through the areas marked in red - is there supposed to be gaps in here? If so, what am I looking for to test correct function? (the picture is not mine).

How do I know if its knackered or not?

Its not a pic of mine, just a pic I found for display only. Yes, it sits below the coolant valves into the bulkhead. I've just had a digi camera out and took some pics then bloody battery went flat.

I think the first picture that I will get as soon as the battery has some poke shows the rubber mounting split on the left hand side but I may be wrong.

If it has split, is it likely to be excess movement of the gearbox causing what I've described?

possibly, what i normally do is leave handbrake on start car and play with clutch in 1st gear so its biting, then push it back in a few times, whilst the engine is rocking backwards and forwards you can tell how bad the movement is by watching the mounting, takes 2 of you of course, if loads of play in it id say its knackered, mine on astra is very tight, think its been changed.

Quick example of the left hand side - of the mount, looks like its torn and the bottom rubber feet may have collapsed?

Going to get some photos of the right hand side, hoping for some confirmation that this is FUBAR before spending more money 🙂

Looking at photo of new mount vs. my mount, it seems to have dropped over 1cm, the circle with line through it indicates where the top of the metal bit should be
