z22yh bent valves.

hi guys i have had a quick search but i really can't get used to the site notsure.gif.
seems that i have bent the two exh valves in cylinder 2. not had head off yet to check for any more damage but it just seems that these are the only damaged ones.my question is how much are the valves going to cost. allso what is involved in replacing the valves do they need to be set or something similar.

I have several z22se exhaust valves if you need a couple, not sure if they are the same as the z22yh notsure.gif

but I can do a pair for £6 inc postage :thumbup:

to replace, whip the head off, remove the cam and then using a spring compressor remove the valve springs, then it's probably best to lap the new valves in and finally reassemble

probably a days work

gonna get in touch with a company called head technique near me and see what they say allso. but not gonna be 100% untill i get the head off i suppose. mite take u up on that offer vocky if they are the same :thumbup:

got a call from a engine reconditioning company today to be told the head is scrap,apparently the exhaust cam had seized or something and the damage is quite bad. so i am in need of a z22yh cylinder head if any one could help i would be ur slave for life.I have sent turbo jay a pm just waiting to see what he has got lying about b ut any other help will be greatly recieved.

you could get a complete z22yh, then flog the original bottom end :thumbup:

not sure, probably about £750 ish

but a recon head would be £550, then you would need a head gasket and head bolts, so another £75

you could flog your old bottom end for £200, because the pistons are high compression they are ideal for tuning the z22se :thumbup:

cant even find a head and the only engine ive seen is £995 and i can't really afford that.

i have been pm'ing turbo jay he has a head that i am very interested in he lives in telford too so on my doorstep so to speak.just waiting on him to pm me back then maybe have a look at it. went on that 1st choice parts and got two qoutes back and allthough i requested z22yh head still both of them turned out to be z22se heads so not happy with them at all. hopefully tho turbojay has the one for me then i can get the car up and running once again.

not really, just lowers the compression ratio slightly :thumbup:
