universal lambda

hi all dont suppose anyone can advise me on what the differnce is between a position 2 universal lambda and a lambda designed for my car(position 2) as ive just had a universal one put on and my car seems real bad on fuel since,

nothing really

universal is simply u cut into existing loom / harness and join wires together

a lambda designed for the car means it connects to the engine loom correctly by way of the shaped plug

u need real time monitoring the rear & front lambda voltages

unlikely rear lambda would cause severe fueling issues

it is not uncommon for front lambda to fail and not flag up a fault code

so its not worth changing for a genuine

in my experience the ones marketed as universal will work but are cheapo and will break soon
best to get an OE one which will be a proper brand like bosch etc...

i have run a couple of cheap one they tend to die in about 3k

not to worried about how long it lasts its more for the set up of the lambda as i have poor fuel consuption and lumpy idle and hardly no power after replacing pos 2 sensor
