Very true but i'm speaking from very good experience. I've spent almost £19k on my car over the years since buying it. It depends on how far you want to go that's all.
You do what's right for you but looking back now over the last 8 years, I have enjoyed it but its difficult to stop modding. You want more and more until it ends up not being viable anymore. I'm in possession of a car that isn't worth a great deal in todays market and it owes me a mint. I'm having a sensible head evening tonight! lol!
;-)
we've all gotta be sensible once in a while. 😃
anyhu i have no intention of sellin mine anytime soon, soim gonna burn loadsa money and worry about where it all went later on
You're a bad influence! pmsl..
You're also only here once! I don't think it matters what you buy really. If its in your blood then you'll mod/tune your car no matter what. If I had an Astra VXR i'd take to Courtenay. If I actually grew some balls and bought an Audi A4 like I keep thinking about i'd end up getting it mapped.
My wife just raises her eyebrows at me now when I mention something new about the car.
Its an addictive bug. Of course, if you can carry out performance mods yourself then you can save a lot of money. The mods carried out on my car were and are out of my league as a DIY project. Hats off to the likes of Vocky, Lee, Daz and the other project owners who have the talent and knowledge to do the work themselves. The recent engine transplant project is outstanding.
I'm just an old fart!
