Something missing?

Hopefully you'll understand what i'm on about!

On the side of my plastic inlet, right next to my oil filter cap i think i have something missing!!!!!!!!!
2 of my friends have recently bought Vectra 150s too and on theirs there is a silver circle held on with 2 torx screws, it has a rectangular cut out in the middle through which a spring is visable. Does that make sense to anyone? mine doesn't have one, should i be worried?

yeh i am concerned as the downpipe/cat was practically brand new

if he can get it off he should post it down here and i will get it replaced for him

How long have you owned the car? Are you sure it has the OE inlet or has it been changed for a 2.4 inlet manifold?

it is a brand new inlet manifold for an astra or zafira with later type brake vacuum connection

it came without spring and plate

it is my old car

you know what johnny i actually regret selling that car for 1340

i been looking around for a new car and believe me i have seen about 10 cars priced around 3-4k and nothing came near it

i am in no rush to buy a new car either on what i have seen

You can't sell them for a good price and you get hammered if you're buying. Its a sign of the times in the motor trade. It is very difficult at times, having a car that you know inside out and passing it on only to find that you can't replace it like you've found out.

Makes you wonder if there's any point in selling nowadays?

yeh burt150 has the old manifold, nothing wrong with it

and yes johnny there is a lot of desperate people out there selling absoloute shite for silly money

i viewed an octavia RS on saturday, the dickhead was in the process of smoothing out the cracks on the rear bumper, the rear towing jack had been bent to the floor and then questioned my interest in the car when i walked away

I dont think it matters too much wich type of manifold is on ther as long as its a 2.2 one.

my 1.6 R plate vectra with 192k on the clock drives better than most of the shite i have seen

i am actually looking at another 2.2 but an astra this time as it smaller and more practical where i live

Thats just the way it goes. End of the day mike if your not in a rush to get another car just forget about it for now.

I've said it before, the Astra 2.2 is a good solid car. Feels more powerful than the Vectra but that's probably a lot to do with the weight. A chap that I work with had an SRi and it felt quite spirited away from the lights.

hi mike im a mate of roostas and was wondering did you fit the cruise control to your old vec?
and if so did you have to use a tech 2 to activate it its just some ppl say you need to some say you dont notsure.gif

cruise works on the z22se vectra without tech2, just plug and play :thumbup:
