I took my watch in for repair today. I have an Omega Seamaster. Its been losing time. Christine bought it for me as a wedding present 8 years ago. I only wear it at weekends if i'm going out. Its an automatic time piece that is kept in an onrnamental perpetual movement case. There is a drum in the case that the watch is secured to and it tumbles the watch at intervals to keep time.
The recommended service intervals are 4-5 years so its well over due. The watch goes back to Omega and is stripped and reassembled with new components where required. The stainless steel case, crystal face and bracelet are polished and all scratches removed and then its returned like new. I now have to wait 6 weeks until its returned.
