Hey guys,
Really need some help. I have a 2000 X reg z22se astra coupe. It currently has 111,000 on the clock and going strong. The current things I've done to the engine are;
de-restrict air box & K&N panel filter,
Cat back full custom exhaust from Long Life
Both chains done, re-con injectors
Brand new EGR valve
complete service changing all filters, spark plugs etc
I've also only ever ran it on super unleaded petrol
My sister has just bought a 2001 51 Reg z22se Astra convertible. It currently has 70,000 on the clock, has just had a full service and the air box de-restricted. And nothing more
Stats show the convertible being slower standard over the coupe which is obvious due to the extra weight, however my sisters car is quicker than my car by a vast amount through all gears and rev ranges. With the extra modifications done to mine I expected it to be a very different outcome.
Does anyone have any idea why this could be? I'm beginning to think cts as I do get occasional misfire at high revs and a hesitation. But no lumpy idle and the temp gauge seems to work perfectly, and the fans kick in when the temp gauge rises above the 90 mark.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated as it is driving me completely insane!!
