Best cams?

Righty....was just wondering; what are the best cams to fit into the z22se engine to give maximum performance across the whole rev range? Not looking for out & out race cams as this is my every day car, but the lower end of the rev range is dead ( <4000rpm).

My pipers correctly fitted are perfect for flat torque
Fitted £300 by The doctor
£250 with you as scrubnurse

Anyone got a part No. on some Piper cams for this z22se? Seem to be a couple of types to go for. Also, does anyone else do good cams for this engine, or are Piper the best?

because you have a vectra
your choice is piper or piper two profiles
you will have to send off a set of cams in advance
i can sell a base set to stop you car being off the road

Righty...Piper it is then. Next question....which ones do i go for, fast road or ultimate? Bearing in mind the other mods i'll (we'll) be doing on this engine.

flat torque curve if set up correctly plus my trick (I guarentee 200bhp if you follow my prescription)

What other premliminaries would be needed to be done to achieve these sorts of power outputs? A pair of cams alone isn't going to take the standard 143bhp z22se Vectra C engine to 200bhp on their own are they?

I'm asking because I'm after the easiest (read cheapest) way of getting a lot more power out of mine and if a pair of £300 cams is going to give me another 55 - 60 bhp then you have my serious interest, I always thought new cams only gave about a 15bhp increase at best.

What exactly would be needed to get my Vectra up to these sorts of power levels and what sort of money am I talking?

the cams are just part of the prescription
one would need to be considering £2000+
to acheive 200bhp

That's what I thought, it's just the way your other post was worded it implied otherwise, hence my question. Two grand is a much more realistic figure (and one thats unfortunately way out of my reach at this time) so all back on the "it would be nice to" list 🙂
