dan2211 hey all, i have a sleaking steering arm as shown on pics below and i need help! i dunno what to do? where is the oil likely to be coming from? how can i stop it? is it power steering fluid? im not a car head so please go easy on me with teccy names etc! thanks Dan
dan2211 also what would happen if i keep driving with it like it? (i;ll check the resoivoir tomorrow)
BURT150 Could be P/S fluid out of the rack, Whats the level like? Only real way to tell is to slip the boot off. And make sure theres nothing driping down from above it to make it look like its leaking :wtf:
Daz Looks like from that pic the seals have gone in ure steering rack m8.....just whip the boot ofas mentioned above and see how much oil in there.....only real fix is a new rack unfortunatly...
dan2211 i just had a look under the bonnet and the power steering level is still at max (!?) so i've had a look around the engine bay for leaks, cant see any...... so i've cleaned off the oil with some gunk and will now wait out to see if it appears again. i'm now even more confused? notsure.gif
BURT150 Yea i can see why 🙂 Just keep an eye on it then , Its obviously not running out of it but just weeping through now and again. If it comes back slide the boot off it to make sure its deffinatly that and if it is as daz said it'l be a new rack so with it the way it is it'l give you a chance to save up for a new one 🙁
