Light on under tacho

Hi everyone,

I have noticed that when I turn the ignition on without starting the engine there is a picture of a spanner in the square read out under the tacho. It then goes out before the engine is started. Is this normal as I was having a look at some of these 2.2 sri's on youtube and when they switch the ignition on there is no light? Also, I don't know if it's me imagining or not but I feel I can detect a very slight misfire in second gear? Could this be linked?

Thankyou mate, just seemed odd it lights up on mine but not on another one i saw. The slight misfire might go away now im not thinking there is something wrong. Just got to work out if my timing chain needs doing. Seems way to confusing all this info lol. Thanks again

try a new set of plugs, use the genuine vauxhall triple electrode - only £4 each too :thumbup:

while i'm here may as well ask question bout my timing chain. Car is a sept 2002 and engine number begins 111. Has almost 70k on clock. Engine sounds very smooth and quiet even on cold start. It did rattle once last week on cold start but only for a second. It was quite a high pitched noise. Been reading up about them being a bit tappety on cold starts. Car was parked on a camber and hasn't done it since. Should i get the chain checked?
