not sure if it was the same if you had a reminder but taxed the car today as its been off the road over winter and the bloody thing has gone up! :thumbdown:

knew it was coming thank god i taxed mine the end of dec for 118.25 ,shame ive got to pay the 134.75 at the end of june

I did the same on the Astra. Didn't really want to put 12 months on it, but it's saves me amost £50 over the increase this month.

The road tax is small fry i use that amount of increase in petrol a day.

I was tempted by an A3 3.2 Quattro but at 28 mpg may have to settle for the 2.0 Turbo or TDI 170 synchro.

2 ltr Turbo is 41mpg, i get 35/36 out of the Veccy and give it some

I'm planning on keeping the VXR for at least 5 years. They are very reliable cars. I've been spending a lot of time on VXROnline, and you only really hear problems with tuned cars, or ones which aren't looked after.

One thread I've been posting in recently.....bloke changed the gear box oil on his 2008 VXR. Day after, his gear box blows a hole in itself!

wonder how much more than can keep hiking on petrol and road tax before it gets to the point where a majority of your income is spent getting to work and back

i can now put over a 5er worth of petrol in them little petrol containers lol

After tax more than half the running costs way exceed the petrol used.

Matt i was thinking 120k before needing major repairs assuming i could pick up a sub 40k one at reasonable price, there again thats only less than 4 years hence the Audis.

Mine is an 06 plate, and I got that with just 22.5k miles on the clock.

I'm tracking my fuel usage on my Iphone, and over the last 6 months, I've done 2348 miles, and spend £520 on fuel using only Shell V-Power. Getting 27.2mpg. Then there are the £400 a month car payments.........

28mpg you would be lucky in 3.2 my mate had one, best he ever got was 21 even on a run, it went down to 8mpg that was when i drove it :lol: :lol:

I really dont want to track how much i spend on fuel getting to work, it would just scare me.

Petrols around £1.22 ltr at most places round here, Sainsburies £1.20 ltr, so only another 4p a ltr and we will be where we were 3 1/2 years ago at £1.26 ltr.
Actual running costs to work hover in the region of £136 p/w after tax, so tax on tax on tax get rid of this government.

Think i'll rule out a 3.2 A3 unless at give away price, 2 T or 2 ltr 170 diesel.
I smell a rat here have a butchers http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/ ... 500/page/3 Might get 5 years out of it without serious expense.

Must be one of those scams or a cut and shut etc.
Unless its what the dealer has offered in part exchange! Have known dealers to offer less than £300 if they dont deal in that particular producer but take to someone else £2600 against same value £10k car plus £3000 discount on list.
