Can anyone recommend a reputable head supplier?

Hi everyone, I'm looking for a reconditioned cylinder head, fully built up with cams, for my 2.2. I've been looking on ebay and I've seen a couple, one at £475 but it's not made clear if it comes with cams, and another on at £575 which seems to be from a bigger company and comes fully built up with cams ready to fit.

Is £575 a fair price? this is the ebay listing number; 380162320341

I'm quite tempted to go for it, but wondered if anyone on here could recommend a particular firm, or perhaps give me an idea of what sort of money I should be paying.

Obviously I don't want to spend more than I have to as I've got cam/balance chains, gaskets, oil pump etc to buy aswell! But on the other hand I want a well reconditioned head that's not going to cause me any unnecessary problems.

iv got 1 for 350 with a new head gasket set and head blots new in bag,,

Whoever you buy a head from
You need some integral insurance
and that is a minimum of vacuum test this will validate the sealing of the valve,
ideally you what a rebuilt reconditioned head
I can provide any style (VX or Saab) head reconditioned as standard
or port & polished
and skimmed (for real power)

I can suuply standard reconditioned with cams for
£465 outright purchase

Thanks for that info ATOM X, to be honest I'd rather buy from someone on here than buy from an unknown supplier on ebay.

I'm planning to remove the pre cat and fit a cool stat while I'm working on the car, and when I got the car it had already been fitted with a remus centre section exhaust from LMF so a ported head might be a good move, especially with a panel filter?

What sort of money could you do a ported, polished & skimmed reconditioned head with cams for? And what bhp difference would it make?

hi thr sorry you need a new head, i got mine from redmans engine centre about a month again an it is fine
i found them selling on ebay so gave them a call an ordered it, it was £575. i did call the cheaper one first but
they just didnt seem to want to sell anything so no help at all you might say.
give redmans a call on 01253 778969 or mobile 07733 453701.
everythin is with it cams the lot, on top of that tho you will need a new chain new head bolts gasket set so it does start to add up...
i paid about £790 in total for everything. plus the garage that did it for me did a really good deal for fitting it for me.
all in all dont work out that cheap. as it is now ot stands me at nearly a grand so have to keep it cos wont get my money back
besides i do like drivin the car so that helps.
