Changing the Waterpump

Hi im new to this forum but was wondering if anyone has experienced changing the waterpump, I have an astra coupe and it appears that the pump is leaking water as there is a drip coming from it, I have a spare engine but just wondered how difficult this is going to be before I start.

u either drop the chain or buy a tool to hold the water pump sprocket in place whilst u drop the actual water pump

they are more prone to leak oil than water

vxhall charged me £230 including the water pump to replace

took em over 4 hours lol

Ok thanks Guys, I'm going to have a go of removing on the spare engine today and see how it goes, im stripping this one down for spares anyway so not too bothered if I damage anything in the process.

not easy even with the tool. If you use the tool then when you run it for the first time it makes a whining noise it means the balance shaft chain has jumped
