dtuk eco3 question?

I just been reading a thread on the aoc and there was these to guys having a chat about this box as 1 of them had just bought 1 off ebay.

the guy whom already had 1 was telling the newbie to phone his insurance company and tell them you have just bought the eco 3 box and it will save you fuel...
he went onto to say that they know it adds up to 50bhp but as long as you stress that you are fitting it to save fuel then they will give you a discount? notsure.gif

he sounded like he could talk the talk so i wasnt going to make a mug of myself and question him?

but its bugging me

is this true or is he talking shaite? dunno..

It really depends on the insurance company. I'm with Chris Knott, and was with them when I had the DTUK box fitted. They know exactly what it is, and what it does. My insurance went up by £70 for the year, which isn't bad considering the power increase.

think it sounds like he was talking shit tbh its a power increase they will charge u extra. always do, they dont care if it saves fuel as thats only helping you and not them.

Thanks for that guys, imo i couldnt see then giving you any sort of discount on a mod that ok... states it will save you fuel but more importantly ( in their eyes ) will increase the power of the car?

Exactly, if anything, they may not charge you any more for having it fitted, but certainly not going to be giving you a discount.
