My New Car... The Astra mk5 Twintop 1.9 CDTI 🙂

     Think i gave hints away by putting a couple of bit up For Sale under the Classified Section lol. I Traded the old Coupe in last Friday as she was Getting that age where things kept going wrong and costing me money. As soon as i got the damaged done on the old coupe, I headed Straight up the Vauxhall Dearlership to see what they had. I viewed an Astra Vxr about 4 months ago but the insurance was £3800 for me!!!!  :eh:  So That idea was down the pan lol.

Ive always liked astra coupes but ive had 3 Mk4's now, not inc my hatch, so i thought id go for a mk5.

     They had a Black 07 plate one sitting on the court at the time i had a look.. Loved it as soon as i see it and had plenty of Ideas for her within seconds!!  :shifty:  Haha

When i see it was an 1.9 CDTI, I wernt too sure about it? :think: But then i know it would be much better on fuel plus i know you can Remap/tune em and get good results ect! Insurance is Cut in half, From £1600 now down to £770 which help me out a little, Cheaper tax... I thought, Yeahh why not!?? (y)

So there you have it.. Now a new Proud owner of An Astra Twintop 🙂

Very nice mate, the MK5 is a big step up from the MK4.

Get a tuning box on it, and you'll easily see 200bhp for less than £250.

Thanks Matt 🙂 Yeahh, ive had the idea of the Tuning box already lol. Which one did you have on your old Vectra? i see that ebay have about 2-3 types of tuning boxes Price starting about £80 upwards

I got the DTUK eco 3 (green) on my astra 1.9cdti,

We put it on the rollers last week @ daz's rollling road day and got 200bhp - 287lb tourque.

not bad for £150, thats £3 a horse over standard 😃

Thank you Dodger! ..Well Ive done a couple of small things already, like. De-restricted the air box, Xenon side lights and headlight bulbs, Debadged rear end. my future plans are: HID's, Painted calipers,Tuning box, Vxr Front bumper, Vxr/Irmscher Styling kit, lowered 60mm.. Il try not to go too far on this one lol :wink:

Well they only gave me £1600 :think: But i had the wheels off her, rear lights, Irmy Grill, Cd/dvd player, Blue silicone hose kit, hid kit off.. But also she needed money spent on her and things were going wrong one by one so i had to let her go

My Dad was Technical Manager for Nitromors for the last 10 years before they were bought out by a German company called Henkel. He worked at Wilcot Parent Company that produced Nitromors for 42 years. He still has all the formula for production locked up in his garage.
