oki since labour took control of this country over a decade ago they have created new ways of fixing figures concerning levels of unemployment
firstly is the economically inactive which is another word for he/she who has lost their job and / or is not claiming job seekers due to not being able to qualify, i.e self employed / partner is working / breach of job seekers agreement & students
age to qualify for being non economically inactive is 59 for women ad 64 for men
there is 8.16 million people apparently economically inactive
Secondly is incapacity benefit, as i have been unable to find an accurate figure for this year i will use 12 months ago, 2.7million people are on incapacity benefit due to severe injury, disability or illness, those with new claims after 2008 will now claim for a benefit called Employment and Support Allowance, as i can get no figures on this i will simply exclude this stat
so 2.7 million on incapacity benefit
next is unemployment levels, to be classed as unemployed you need to be claiming job seekers allowance, many people are not eligible for job seekers due to their partners working, as of this week unemployment has dropped 30k to 2.45 million
so 2.45 million unemployed
[according to government statistics there is 61 million people recorded as residing in this country, 16% of the population are OAP's and claiming their state pension [10 million]
anyway excluding woman over 59 and men over 64 of age there is 13 million people in this country who are not working at present out of 61 million
more than 1 in 5 people anywhere in the uk are out of work at present
add the oaps and there is more than 1 person in every 3 out of work
