Here's the first problem that i've ever heard of yet with one of these boxes.
I collegue that I work with has a Saab 9-3 1.9CDTi Vector. He purchased a DTUK CDR2 Multimap (Red) tuning box 6 months ago from DTUK. He was absolutely blown away by the extra performance that came from it once fitted. A very happy individual until last Friday.
He complained to me that the car felt completely flat and that the turbo wasn't spooling up and asked me to take it for a drive. Sure enough the car was gutless with no acceleration and definately no turbo. Foot flat inthe carpet and nothing. No pressure.
I returned with his car and I thought that there may have been an issue with a split pipe or a jubilee clip come off. There was no EML at that time. On his journey home Friday evening the light eventually came on.
He decided to book it in to Saab in Bristol and yesterday it went in for inspection. After a diagnostic check, the ECU had gone into limp mode. The codes showed overfuelling and a MAF fault along with his particulate filter being blocked?? The Saab dealer has removed the box and cleared the codes along with initiating the cleaning of the filter. They have advised that the box doesn't get reconnected.
I've never heard of this happening before. I'm suprised as DTUK have a VERY good track record. Have any of you heard of problems like this before? His car has 85k on the clock.
