corrupted registry entry
loginUi.exe is a process belonging to windows xp that enables users to switch user profiles [logins].also process tree relates to GUi for logging in
as it is located under system32 folder I beleive it to be more or less a corrupted registry entry due to a bad shut down or random restart
chuck in xp install cd, when it says recovery or install, click recovery, enter admin password if required then ;
copy X:\i386\winlogon.ex_ C:\Windows\System32\winlogon.exe
OR
copy X:\i386\winlogon.exe" C:\Windows\System32
And
copy X:\i386\logonui.ex_" C:\Windows\System32\logonui.exe
OR
copy X:\i386\logonui.exe" C:\Windows\System32
x: is the drive letter of your cd / dvd drive
failing that then come back to me and we will do it another way
another form of file validation but you have no access to the xp install lol
