adie2000a Came off motorway tonight pulled up to traffic island, tickover went very rough and was a bit crap pulling away from standing (ok when booting it though) this carried on all the way home in rush hour traffic, when i got home looked in engine compartment and the pipe from the egr valve to the air inlet manifold was very hot (i believe that my egr valve has been turned off as every time i put car on op com it states inactive and there appears to be some kind of shim under the valve, not had it off to check if blanking plate as my tool kit is at work) the question is should this pipe be hot after a 20 mile journey?? many thanks in advance... cryb.. engine is a Z22SE
BURT150 Best thing to do would be take the egr valve off when you get a chance and see whats been done. Has the EGR valve been dissabled then? No fault codes?
BURT150 Id grab your tools then and have a look  You can remove the egr pipe from the head to the inlet manifold and if you do some searches on the site youl find some ways of blanking the holes. Your egr valve could be stuck open!
adie2000a thats what i was thinking but wasn't sure ,just started it again whilst it had time to cool down and engine is ticking over better than it was but just a little bit lumpy..
vocky 'inactive' means it's not currently being used by the ecu and the shim is the gasket  get a blanking plate from the dealer as it sounds like the valve is sticking open 🙁
