irmsherguy What does everyone think should be quicker? 0-60s, top end, what can outrun what that kinda thing? what we reckon?
si_c1978 interesting question, my mate had the mk5 diesel and on paper it looked like he could have/hold off my mk4 2.2, and it did seem to be better at low revs but any gain he made was lost (and maybe some more) when it came to gear changes as i could rev the bollocks off mine! (thinking about it now my engine was probably a little unwell at the time too) he's a bit of a rich boy was slightly upset by this and booked his straight in with regal for a re-map! 😃
vocky well seeing as I've owned both at the same time.... a standard cdti150 would beat a standard 2.2 :silent: that is comparing vectras, so similar car weight.
si_c1978 yeah if im honest mine had a viper induction kit aftermarket exhaust sports cat and a few other mods at the time......
vocky if you fit a panel filter and remove the precat then the 2.2 is slightly quicker  fit an exhaust, a sports cat, some cams and the cdti is slow
Matt vocky said: if you fit a panel filter and remove the precat then the 2.2 is slightly quicker  fit an exhaust, a sports cat, some cams and the cdti is slow  Fit a tuning box or remap the diesel, and it it's fast again 😃
JohnnyN I can confirm from an Supercharged challenge against Matt, the SC on acceleration from a standing start will pull away from from a tuned diesel. BUT.....its not the same story whilst rolling above 50mph. I could not pull Matt in when he was in front of me on the back roads of Norfolk. The diesel torque is immense with a tuning box.
