Thanks for the advise on the fault code that keeps coming up.
However, I now need your opinions on a decent code reader. I bought a Memoscan unit that supposedly worked on all petrol cars from 2001 onwards. However, it wouldnt work on mine. I sent it back explaining the problem and have now been told that my Vectra apparently isnt fully OBD 2 compliant !!! Its an SRI 150, registered May 2001 on a Y plate, has the OBD plug under the handbrake and works just fine on the Tech 2 machine. So from that, I thought it was full OBD 2 compliant.
Anyone on here had the same issues or is the place I bought the code reader from talking bollocks ???
If so, can anyone suggest a decent reader that I can not only read the codes but also switch the engine light off wit han also carry out some diagnostics if required ????
