2.2 usual cam chain problem

Car wouldn't start last week, long story short chain had slipped not snapped due to a chain guide coming loose. car has full Vauxhall service history 60k, now needs new chain kit 8 new valves new cylinder head, £1017 and my first born child!!!!!

Vauxhall are not bothered in the slightest even emailed Nick Riely CEO of Vauxhall and Opel Europe directly ( waiting on his response! )

Engine number 11093435 so not in the effected range, i have all the parts from the chain kit after persuading vauxhall to hand them over, looks like i have the new style oil nozzle is there anything i should be checking for?

What car is the engine in? Astra, Vectra B, Vectra C or Zafira?

Vectra B or Vectra C, they were both in production in 2002?

The Vectra B had the old style oil jet. The Vectra C had the new style jet, but, there have been a few Vectra C owners over the recent months joining this site with the bad news of chain failure on later z22SE engines with the larger oil jet.

The price that you have been quoted does appear to be a fair price. I don't believe that you will get anywhere with Vauxhall regarding this issue.

appreciate the offer im in liverpool! gonna have to pay what they ask...

im going to post a couple of picks of my oil jet, not exactly sure what caused this, slipped chain or if its the old one (suspects its the new one )

attached pics of what i think is the new style jet, is this what causes the slipping chain, also since im having new valves and head do you think i will notice a difference in the drive?

The tensioner could be wankered which would cause the chain to jump! The tensioner workes off of oil pressure. Definately the new larger oil feed.

Ok a bag of sand and the best part of three weeks later I have my 2.2 vectra back, new chain new valves new head, anything I should look out for over the next few days?

Quick update, after initially being refused any help from vauxhall i have had a reply from my email to their european CEO and have been offered a free service or cash off a new vauxhall, better than a kick up the arse i supposes...

nope... silly question but whats the difference between the 2.2 vectra i drive and the 2.2sri?

the engine is identical, the gearbox might be different as there are two final drive ratios fitted to the vectra
