now and again when i pull the handbrake up it goes right to the top hitting the centre console but if i pull it up and down a few times it resets itself and holds on a couple of notches. its a wierd fault as if its only pulling on one side or something then after a couple of goes its fine.....
This is a strange one as mine does a similar thing but also makes a horrible cracking sort of noise when it does it, for the past few days it hasn't been too bad and seems to be weather dependant I've noticed i.e when temperature is low, to be honest mine seemed to start all this during that snow period we had just before Xmas, but also thinking about it , I had the rear wheels off a couple of weeks before then , checking the brakes and I did lube the hand brake pivot mechanism on both rear calipers, perhaps it didn't like me doing this!! one thing I have heard though, is that some guys that have had this issue have found their brake pads low on the rear and after replacement all was ok, so might be worth checking yours.
