gerrard14 recently my intake camshaft got starved of oil and scored the middle bit of the cam where it is bolted on now i get a knocking sound has anyone got any ideas what it could be
vocky they are machined to the head so be careful if you fit some from another head, check each one after tightening to make sure it doesn't 'bind' :thumbup:
gerrard14 do you mean they are machined around the camshafts also when taking camshaft of the sprocket on reassembly does the sprocket have locating holes for the camshaft to fit into before bolting it on
vocky when the head is made they fit the caps and then 'line bore' the bearings the cams have slots to align the sprockets, they are offset so you can only fit them one way :thumbup:
gerrard14 got camshaft sorted turned engine over but getting no oil upto camshaft cover to spray the cams but got covered in oil of the chain so i presume there is a blockage to the cam cover has anyone got any ideas how to clean the blockage up
