sports cat/downpipe on 2.2 astra

my piper manifold was fine, but atm i got standard down pipe with 200 cell cat in toi a 2.25" in to back box where it exits to the tail pipes to 2" as i have a quad system

No i don't think the piper is a bad idea, face it, no-one else makes them! (unless you can get your hands on a dbilas cast one) but if you recieve it and it is bent like a banana, send it back!!!!!!

adamjmb, 2.5" onto a 2" system is okay, dont got for a 2.5" exhaust system til you have fitted cams

My 2.5" down pipe was bought in bits, i bought a 200 cell sports cat cost (unused) for £80 from ebay, 2.5" flex and took the whole lot to a local gargae who welded the bits togther and fitted my milltek system, for the bargain price of £150!

If you have got the money spare, go and buy courtney/piper pre made bits, if not use some lateral thinking!!!

Thinking along the same lines as that, maybe buy a 2" decat downpipe (like this for £100), and a 200 cell cat seperate, as i have a mig and an arc i could weld it in myself for half the price of buying a premade one cant be that hard surely. TBH i would just weld in a 200 cell into the original section but its seen better days and is blowing from the flange joining to the manifold... dont want to risk welding it in and then finding it still blows even with a new gasket.

As for the dbilas manifolds theres one up in the classifieds but ive heard some bad things about them cracking and whatnot so abit unsure on that

Good idea! i chopped up my first standard cat/downpipe to fit a sports cat.

Buy a OBD2 code reader, i kept on getting a error code about the cat after it was fitted.
