Well, I went and had a look at one on Saturday.
Y reg Vectra SRi 150 hatchback, 85k miles, up for £4295.
It was too expensive for the mileage in my opinion, but I wanted to go and look at one and take one for a drive. That way at least I have experienced one and can use it as a benchmark for any others I view. Plus I hate to buy the first thing I see
The car itself was OK apart from a couple of faults. The aircon pipe was broken. The bracket hadn't been fitted (at this point I started ranting about the fact that no doubt none of the other recalls would have been done and the timing chain is probably about to snap! etc etc 😃 ).
The thunk on the steering at low speeds was there too, but other than that it drove very well, with no creaking from the rear suspension (which is another common problem I've been told about).
Far too expensive really. Ideally I want one with well under 70k miles on the clock too. Still, at least I've driven one now. So, it's back to the autotrader (etc) websites to find another one!
Will keep you posted 😉
