amd Hello all, readed many info about this engine and problems, but still have questions: All engine numbers from 11065400 had the revised Lubrication nozzle and tensioner, is it true? If yes, had anyone problems with this engine, when number is higher? Asking, cause tomorow going to look one Vectra C 03' with this engine and want to be sure about it... Thanks.
JohnnyN Yes the Vectra C had the revised kit. But, there are now early Vectra C's that are coming to attention with chain issues.
amd U say, that, even if engine have revised kit, it can have problem with chain anyway? Do i understood corectly? so what i must to do with engine, to avoid problems, if i buy this car? p.s. thanks for quick answer.
JohnnyN Now that the C is getting older and they are getting higher mileages, all the signs of chain problems are gradually showing themselves. The usual thing to keep in mind is make sure you oil and filter are changed at regular intervals. I would suggest between 6-10k miles depending on your average mileage per year.
JohnnyN What sort of mileage has this car that you are looking at got on the clock? The chain life expentacy is 100k miles.

If the car has been regularly serviced and they have records of this then the chain can last longer as it did with mine (117,000 mi). BUT inevitably it will need changing at some point. IF the car has been very well maintained then it is likely that there wont be any other problems and would justify the cost of a chain replacement.
