Running in new mods

Ive read the posts saying take it easy for the first 30 ish miles,
but after that is reached what is the procedure?
slowly raise the revs so the engine adjusts?

If modifications will affect engine controls systems and the results of those mods are within the constraints of the standard ECU mapping parameters then the ECU will alter fuelling and/or timings to acheive BEST results

this can take 5-10 cycles

once ECU has stabilised and you are not happy with outcome
THEN
Is the time to consider re-mapping

my pleasure
A cycle is a decent run on the engine
ECU is semi-intelligent! It will trim the fueling & ignition within the the constraints of the programme
it takes 5-10 cycles to read & adjust the trimming during this period the same grade of fuel is an advantage
otherwise it will take a greater number of cycles
some will contradict this!
but
2198cc can qualify that his ECU trimmed and he started to notice the difference

So would each cycle have to be of the same driving condition or a variation? If you were to drive a little spirited whilst during a particular cycle, could this potentially upset trimming etc?

I would suggest all driving styles within that cycle

Well.. It isn't as much a cycle as hitting all the different cells in the LFT table. And depending on your mods, it might never get optimal. Got a table in
a piece I wrote on chiptuning the z22se engine:
