My first post starts with the dreaded cam chain noise! tut
I have an Astra 2.2 (z22se) bertone automatic which now sounds like a very noisy diesel! I left for work one morning with no noises and when i got to work I thought that perhaps in my sleepy state i had go into my works diesel combo lol.
After reading the several posts which are ALWAYS helpful (keep it up all) I have come to realise my cam chain needs replacing! One thing i did notice thou was everyone seems to be replacing theirs at about the 80k mark. Mine has just started being noisy at a shade under 117k. Ive owned the car since 51k. I have always got regular vauxhall dealer services thou so does this make a difference i wonder??? My engine number is before the mod came out even thou first reg date is 14/03/2002 which is bloody typical. Also there is no mention of any new cam chain or nozzel being fitted to my car in the service books either.
Is there any mechanic on here near M11/J7 that would be able to do the cam replacement for me???
Also i need a THIRD exhaust manifold fitted too (yes 3rd bloody thing!) as my second one has cracked AGAIN after just 2 years!
