jdooly i can not afford to buy both chains so i just want to no thats it is ok just the timing chain and hope that the balance chain is ok i meen wat can wrong with that one i thought it was just the timing chain that snapped.. cryb..
vocky depending upon the mileage it is usually ok to just change the cam chain, but the lifespan is 100,000 miles for both chains if the balancer chain snaps it will take out the cam chain :thumbdown:
jdooly cheers for that lads but after reading all the post on here about cam chains i have yet to hear even a whisper of any balancing chains snapping so i think i will push my luck and just change the timing one but many thanks again for all your help..this truly is an awsome site..and i just hope mine is not the first 2 snap lol. cheers.. cheers..
astra22bertoneauto id say you best change both of them whilst its in bits. not only would it be cheaper it would give you peace of mind for another 100k
