Whilst ago was planning to get clutch done as seen in the thread below
viewtopic.php?f=1&t=14957
Just had my clutch done today and After being quoted 275 i then had to pay 380 due to them saying a slave cylinder was leaking but was
sworn by others that the quote had that included, anyways.
I found a very wierd whistling noise coming from the engine when the car was idling or low revs when the pedal is pushed
Down. Now went back and spoke to the guy who did the work and he said that sounds like
a self centre bearing that should go after a day or so. As it didnt make a noise when the pedal was up and not in gear obviously.
So got back in the car and off i went, also further down the road noticed the faster i got
Found another noise coming from the engine whilst driving, sounds again like a bearing but so light
the sound is simular to like beads dropping onto a table. again think its a bearing. didnt go back for that as was
almost home. but this time that sound disapeared when i ether put the pedal in or put it into neutral (whilst moving)
Just would like some views on what people think of this situation as have had my fair share of cowboys
and refused to be conned out of a job which should of been done properly.
Especially as im only 20 and currently trying to support myself and another in a 3 bed house on a minimum wage job of around £160 per week.
There are warrentys with it and checks every odd miles with the clutch but just wanted to see if this all adds up. And where i stand when it comes to things like this.
I know this is a boring topic but would be so grateful for the advice.
