dazla hi just joined the site looks like its gonna be really usefull for the future lol. anyway i need a bit of help. i have a interment fault as my abs and traction lights. this is really starting to get on my nerves... any advice cheers daz.
dodger Welcome to the forum Daz, Sounds to me as a wheel hub is becoming faulty, i had this on my previous Astra.
dazla cheers mate will look into it . strange thing is i do have a humming wheel bearing on o/s rear. if anyone else has any clues let me know.....
dodger dazla said: would a bearing cause this fault?????? I don't think so, best thing would you to hook your car up to a tech2 and diagnose which hub is faulty
BURT150 There is a vehical speed sensor built into the rear hubs so chances are if your bearing is giong the sensor might be cheesed too. Your bearing needs changing so id get that done then hopefully it'l sort the abs/tc problem out too.
dazla the car is off to my mate this afternoon .hes a obd tuning guy so gonna get it hooked up to his lap top and see what fault shows... will let you know cheers for all the help
rushy Check the wire that comes from the bearing to the loom. Also unplug the ABS plug, give it a clean with WD40 or switch cleaner and pop it back on. Do your dials drop at all? I had this problem and a clean of the ABS plug sorted it. A duff CIM on earlier models could also cause this problem. this is the ABS plug, its up behind the battery box. HTH
dazla cheers for all your help guys.got it sorted turned out to be os front sensor.when we had a look someone had cut the wire then joined them back together with tape....The funny thing is that it has had both front bearings replaced by a previous owner and the work was done at vauxhall lol.Quality mechanics there then....I must say thanks to ben from mas performance who helped me find the fault and repair it. check his web site. http://www.masperformance.co.uk/
dazla cheers mate didnt cost owt thank god but i owe a few favours now lol.problem is i cant fix it right i had to extend wires and join them back together and tape back up. they have cut the wire that short out of the hub so if it goes again it will be new hub time .i take it the sensor is built in, if so does anyone know how much a new hub is and the best place to get them from.... cheers daz
rushy A new hub for the Vec C is about £65 for the front and £75 for the rear, the sensor, bearings and hub are one unit, its not like the old ones where you can press them out/in. There pretty straight forward to fit, just bolt off and bolt on. I got mine from Vauxcentre. http://stores.shop.ebay.co.uk/VAUXCENTRE
