Chip in alloy wheel

i have a chip in my alloy and i'm not how do deal with it, what colour is it to match it in, it's the stamdard OEM colour

That's a pain Roger. TBH, what you can see there is only the tip of the iceburg really. Once you start picking away you'll see the corrosion goes a little further under the paint. The long term fix would be a refurb really.

damm, did what to hear that really, was hoping to rub it down and spray. I assume the corrosion is deeper than whats on the surface.

I had quite a few bits like that on the wheels of my Vectra, and they were OK when I just painted over them with a touch up kit.

I was just looking at that bubbling that's starting to show under the paint. You can see that the edge of the paint has lifted where the worst of the corrosion is but a little further back it looks like further corrosion waiting to lift the paint up?

I spotted that too John as i thought that is what you mean't in the second post about the paint lifting up because of the corrosion.

I just used my star silver touch up kit that I got from Paints4U.

I do seem to remember a post on VVOC about the wheels being Star Silver. This particular post was in relation to GSi wheels and I remember using my Star Silver paint stick on my wheels after i'd read about it.

I used star silver on a couple of little marks on mine as well.
