Matt timmee said: i spoke to jon about this a while ago and if i could remember what he said i would post it on here but i can't but they do work and won't hurt your turbo so fit it and forget it if it was going to damage anything do you really think percy or regal would sell them?? Cheers Tim!
timmee maybe maybe not if the car is smoking like the turbo is buggered then fit one if the smoke stops then all is good but they are ment to be worth fitting but at the end of the day its up to you if you have one already i would fit it when you change the turbo
JohnnyN Got to be worth a call to Jon on Monday morning just for complete piece of mind. There's no harm in waiting.
Daz turbo aint being fitted for a week or so anyhow......so i think a call to john is the best option....
vocky it would restirct the flowrate but still have the same pressure. the oil pump creates the pressure so the restrictor would just make the oil pump pressure relief valve open sooner, thus no extra pressure just less oil flowing to the turbo
vocky not really, quite a common thing to do, the z22se engine has a restrictor in the block to reduce the oil flow to the head
Daz so just to clarify.....it wont reduce the pressure ,just reduce the flow....so it would def have to be left on tickover for a bit or the turbo will starve on shutdown...
vocky it would probably be a good idea to let the engine idle for a minute before switching off as there would be less oil in the turbo, but thats good practice for any turbo engine
Matt I always leave mine to idle while I take my seat belt off, remove the stereo, and slide the chair back ready to get out. I also try not to drive on boost for the last 5 minutes of the journey.
Daz always do with mine...and def will do with alys new one.....but will def def have to if i do get the bolt....

I then have to use the sill of the car to leaver myself out of the seat so I don't touch the bolster.
