alloy wheel repair help

hi due to ice and really shit roads surfaces since the ice i have buckled one of my alloys and bent the inner rim of another which is letting air escape does anyone know of a decent wheel doctor that can repair them for not really stupid prices ive been ringing for quotes all mornin and the cheap ones say could crack the rin during repair and the dear ones are welll... dear 🙁 :thumbdown: 🙁 :thumbdown: 🙁 :thumbdown: 🙁 :thumbdown: 🙁 :thumbdown:

Tbh mate a buckled rim costs down my way about £40 but they can crack which is the problem.
If it's not to bad u can use a mallet and beat them out that's how alot of companys do it. I seen a porsche garage do it that way before :-0

are u best with one of them lead mallets or a rubber one

id use the hide side of a copper/hide one as the are plenty weighty and the hide is very soft so it should limit the damage :thumbup:

funnily enuf yesterday someone came to me at work with a buckled alloy, had a 3" flat spot in it and around 6-8mm bulge on the rim over 30mm :crazy: ,
i can confirm that a hide mallet is best rubber aint heavy enough and anything else will cause too much damage.
to avoid too much stress on any one place, work the inside back to round then "massage" the rim and check on a flat surface.
as far as i know it has been succsesfull and when im back at work on monday ill buff the crap and laquer off so i can properly check for cracks ill post some pics.
(although this was a mk3 astra alloy and is a very thick wheel so was very easy) :thumbup:

righto just finished it, its not perfect as i still got a couple of dings where i was hitting it. to a point unavoidable with the ding that was in it

i have put it on a surface plate and its fine rolls good etc

ok chaps heres some pics,
im afraid i had already done most of the beating on friday.
like i said this was an alloy from a mk3 astra i think it was a 14 and quite meaty so not that challenging. 🙂
