oil filter?

Hi all,
Has anybody got a picture of where the oil filter housing lives on a 2.2?
I went to get a oil filter on saturday and was expecting to see a normal tin type filter and was suprised to see just a filter sitting on the counter. Changed the oil on other cars plenty of times just don't want to mess up the coupe!!!

its at the front right hand corner of the engine, i'll nip out and take a pic of mine for you in a minute.

if you remove the engine cover you'll see it, it looks like this

I wouldn't have been looking for that (although the fact is says oil filter on top of it would have been a bit of a tip!)
Looks like it is easier to deal with than a normal filter. I just need to find a spare 30 minutes to do it now :?

no problem mate, i was the same when i first got my car. took me ages to figure out it was a different type of filter on it :lol:

well I finally got around to changing the oil on the coupe this weekend and was pleasantly suprised by how easy it was. the replacement paper filter is much easier to change than the more traditional tin type, and is one heck of a lot less messy to do. (had to jack the car up a bit to get under it though!)
Afterwards I was amazed by how much better the engine ran. When I got the car, the garage I got it from changed the oil but I think they just used some cheap rubbish, so I flushed it out and replaced it with the Vauxhalls own semi synthetic. The engine is now much quieter and seems to pull better too. Wish I had found the time to do it before. Luckily I only did a few hundred miles on the previous oil... 20.gif
i don't think I have ever had an engine respond so well to an oil change...
