sdbutler10 Well i picked this up yesterday for £50 with a running engine 😃 so i went about stripping it out cheating 😃 unbolt just engine mounts everything else was just cut off 😃 how it turnend up cut the abs pump out, ripped out rads and battery along with airbox. removed wheels to get the shafts out did it the pikey way left the car sitting on thw rims. once mounts removed couple of chains and a 4tonn forklift mid air shot and all oil and watter going everywhere out and mess on the floor all stripped out and car sitting 1/2foot higher the lump now on a pallet ready for the work In all took me just under 2 hrs to remove it and get box, clutch and flywheel off. then another 2 hrs cleaning up 🙁
sdbutler10 well stripped it down to nothing last night and found out that it had slipped a tooth on the chain 🙁 so that might explain why it was only running on 2 cylinders. so after talking it all apart i found out it had been bodged in it life with the head gasket being done but was covered in sealent so cleaned that all off. the crank was fine and all bearings. then looking at the pistons closley found out it had made contact at one point in its life to the inlet valves but they are old marks on the pistons but anway the head it now going to be stripped down and tested and looked over. so the next plan is to push the bearings back in the block and slowley rebuild it.
