no fuel z22se

hi all, i recently fitted a z22se in an astra coupe, we got it cranking over but got no fuel at the rail, just need some ideas thrown at me as to what may be up, i havnt worked on these engines before so help is much appreciated, ive got a small single plug on the right of the engine, well infact there is 2, i think they may be earths, but as said only one is plugged in to a black wire coming off a small little block on side of engine and the other wire is not plugged into anything as i cant find anywhere for it to go to. i will try and get a pic asap.

have you connected the crank sensor (above/behind the starter motor) ?

a pic of the wires would help :thumbup:

there are also the water temp sensor plug and a few earth wires near the coil pack

its abit hard for me to get a picture atm as the car is 200 mile from me, yeah everything is plugged in except that thin single wire on the right hand side of engine, right by the eye to hoist up engine. theres 2 of them, one is plugged into a small black block thats bolted to the head.

will get my mate who has the car to give the crank sensor a check and other earths, and fuses etc. its just bugging me as everything has gone back as it was before because it was a z22se before so a straight swap

the black block is for the coil pack, it won't fire with that disconnected

the other single wire(s) are earths
