Tinting windows

Hi to all, has anyone had there windows tinted recently? Ive seen a few home kits on cars and not happy with the finish on most of them, not an easy job by all means. Just wondering on how much on average its likely to cost,

           ....also, I would like to have a constant tint around the car rather than the front windows lighter than the rear, what`s the legal limit for drivers & passenger windows....Ta

I don't think you can have any tint now on the front windows, shame as it looks good on some cars.

the legal limit on the front is 70% transparency, when i asked about getting mine done i was told that the windows already have a very light tint on them all round and that the fronts where at the legal limit already.

Thanks for the info guys, I new you had to be carefull especially with the front of the car, still tempted to do the rear a little darker...it`s that or the un-cool kids blinds for the baby.. :oops: ..

a lot of people around my way have all windows done dark although if you get pulled by the fuzz they will make you remove the tint off the fronts.

I've got a very light tint on my front windows, and you can only tell at certain angles. When I had the car MOT'd beginning og this month, the tester asked me if I'd had tints on the front and had to have them removed. I then corrected him and said "There still on!" So mine should be OK with the fuzz. I've also got limo black on the back, 1st lot I had I did myself, and the rear window is a bitch, so I had it re-done professonally. Average cost nowdays for a full car is _£200

mr tint in glasgow takes £100 a car, heard nothing but praise from people who have used him.

That really is a good price, unfortunately it would cost me double that again in petrol.

I got mine done by Pentagon Glass Tech. Have a search on the web, i'm sure that there are regional franchises about.
