Hi all,
I am really confused about this cam chain issue now. I spoke to Vauxhall the other day and they have said that the cam chain shouldnt need replacing for ages yet on my car. My car is a X plate 2.2 and has done 92k, I have been reading alot about failed chains and what damage they do to the engine and I really dont want this to happen to my car. When the car is on idle the revs are stable and there is no variation in the revs. There is a like a small rattle noise which im assuming is the chain but its not a loud noise and it's not massively noticable.
What do I do as I dont want to waste money on changing an expensive part that doesnt need chainging. This is my first Vauxhall, i have always had jap cars so never had this sort of issue before. Any advice would be great 🙂
