HELP! needed by astra owners!

hi all, not sure weather this will be on all astras but this pic is from the wifes astra cab,
noticed it the other day and it's puzzling me as i'm not sure what it is or what its for?

this plug/wiring is near the rear (pic shows wheel well, fuel tank pipe and exhaust going to backbox) it has the little clip that push into chassis but carn't see were even they would go?

can anyone help me out?

Is it for the rear brake proportioning valve on estates and vans?

i maybe thought rear parking sensors? but its the way its just cable tied up that makes me think that someone has unpluged it, i may be wrong but thought from factor it wouldn't be just there like that (surly the plug will corrode inside).

I've got a cable just tied up at the back of the engine bay in the VXR (just to the right hand side of the top hat)

I think alot of it is the fact that there is a single loom for the body thats the same across the entire range so because theres so many variants in extras on just an astra there will allways be a spare plug for something someware.

It wont matter if it gets corroded if its never going to be used. It wont be live.

I strip iveco trucks at work and theres about 10 different plugs that arent used under the dash and a couple on the chassis.

Yep, that's why I had cruise control activated on the VXR, as everything was there, it just needed the new stalk and activating via Tech2. Also makes it easier for VX to get more ££ out of you adding optional extras.

I've got a cable just tied up at the back of the engine bay in the VXR (just to the right hand side of the top hat)

I think that plug is for heated washer jets... notsure.gif
