Best thing you can do (also been said on vvoc) is get yourself a haynes manual.
Theres quite alot to it.
Start off by obvious things like disconect your battery ,drain the coolant ,remove water hoses , coil pack,spark plugs and all wiring to the head then depresurise the fuel sytem and remove fuel lines. Remove inlet manifold and exhaust mannifold, remove power steering pump, remove aux belt and tentioner. remove engine mount, remove cam and timing covers, set TDC then remove timing chain, Then once everything is off the head remove head bolts in order 1/3rd of a turn each in sequence. Then off she pops.
