remote locking

hi .. i'v got a problem wiv the remote locking on my astra coupe... the car seems to unlock via the remote keyfob... but doesnt lock with keyfob??? what could be causing this? also when i open the drivers door the sound comes on that would normally come on 2 let u know that the headlights / sidelights are still on. this happens even if the lights are off. please help!

have you tried a second fob (if you have one), i had this problem on a veccy and all it was, was a bit of crap in the fob so when i pressed it there was no contact, i give it a clean and no probs since.....just a thought

yeh i tried wiv the second fob aswell.. still does the same thing.. aint got a clue y. :think:

has anyone else has this problem? as i'v still got it... tryed both key fobs.. when i press the lock button the light comes on , on the fob... its just doesnt do anythin.. weird.

Hi couple of suggestions bud
dont know if they will help but worth a look

ive had to solder about 4 fobs in the last 6
months its hard to see but inside the fob the battery housing
starts to crack where the metal goes into the solder\circuit board it still lights sometimes
but not enuf conection to send strong enough signal to the car open it up and look as close as you can
gently wiggling the battery platform the plastic may move but the metal pins shouldnt. (can be fiddly to repair but better than replacement)
have you tried lubing the ignition barrel as it sounds a little like it thinks the key is still in hence the sound when you open the door (sometimes they get
a little dry like everything else and sticks a bit)

Hope you sort it bud sorry if none of this helps but worth a try

thanks mate, will try them things u'v mentioned. whats best thing 2 lube the barrel wiv?? wd40? or sumtin else?

I had this exact same thing with my 2005 Vectra C, only did it with one of the fobs though. Doors would unlock, but then wouldn't lock with that fob. I never got round to figure it out.

oh while i remember :?
i also saw a few sites with mentions of cctv or some other form of
interferance with the centeral locking from the fob in certain carparks like
asda's etc ??? just thort i'd mention that but hope ya solve the prob lads notsure.gif
