MikeS more like 5000 the burning / brown texture in the middle of the plug is a good indication anyway of how old they are [where your fingers are on the plug] to get that texture on the electrode u looking at over 3000 miles
vocky the way I tell when a spark plug is f**ked is... they turn brown at the point where the ceramic meets the metal (on the outside) as that plug has a brown 'leak' stain I would replace it cryb..
MikeS yes as vocky says i replace mine when that crap appears on ceramic, can be confused with a leaking cam cover gasket though
Matt Cheers guys. I'm going to question the condition of them with the bloke who I bought them off, as they were sold as 1500 miles max use.
Matt I've also noticed the plugs that are in at the minute are some single electrode NGK R's, so I've just ordered a set of standard GM twin electrode ones from Autovaux. http://www.autovaux.co.uk/LoadPortal.as ... 5&vnum=130
sdbutler10 tbh matt the vx spark plugs are among the best i never hear problems with them and always do with the afetrmarket ones.
