Caliper paint

Hi all. Just putting this out for thye public vote. The calipers on my Vec 150 are looking tired and have lashings of surface corrosion and am entertaining giving them a fresh coat of paint to brighten them up a bit. Only problem is I can't decide on colour, it's a Nocturno Blue model and I'm thinking Red or Yellow but can't decide which. Any suggestions? :problem:

here you go mate this might help you decide this is my nocturno blue with red calipers

Thanks Pottsey! Yellow it is then. Your estate looks sweet as f**k! What I wanted but couldn't find one locally and the Mrs doesn't like estates?! I want the GSI ph2 wheels as well lol :thumbup:

Have you any particular caliper paint in mind? I use Hammerite but did try Halfords own caliper paint and it was crap! I had to put a few coats on and it just didn't take very well. And...to top it off, when the brakes got hot, the paint went very soft. I ended up rubbing it back and doing it again with Hammerite again.

Tell me about it, I have one yellow caliper and the rest unpainted because of that very reason. I got one done, realised the paint was a pile of **** and now every weekend its either raining or i'm busy.

I'm so glad I read your posts this morning as I was going to be getting some of the halfords stuff, won't be now!! Can you get yellow hammerite? dunno.. Thanks again guys! Saved me from another petential c**k up :thumbup:

Result! Hammerite do Yellow! Smooth finish only tho but hammered yellow wouldn't look right me thinks?! 😃

Looking good there. I've done the rain and paint thing before and it isn't nice. It such a pain in the ass!

Especially when it starts at full pelt when the car's in the air with the rear wheel still off! Thing is that trolley jack's just there for effect, seals are knackered so had to use the scissor jack :thumbdown: Just need the 17 or 18's and 308mm spacers next! Oh and the pre-cat's coming out next weekend when I service it 😃
