egr mod

right i know the egr mod can be done on 2.2 but can it be done on 2.0lt diesels?? my mate took his off and its black as coal and his car wont start now,
can anybody help??

Moved to correct section.

It's really dependent on what the ECU expects. I know on the Z19DTH you can't remove or block the EGR, as the ECU monitors the gas flow though it back into the manifold.

Could he have actually broke the EGR valve taking it off?

the egr system is operated by vacuum on a diesel, so you might be able to block it off, but you would need to make some sort of blanking plate notsure.gif
