Hello everyone. My vectra had the old style oil jet ( which was not blocked) despite not being on Vauxhall's bad engine list. It is a vectra B but it has been a fantastic car for my wife and I being very smooth and fast when required. Only 53000 miles on clock.I had the work done as a precaution. I have asked Vauxhall for some recompense on the expense of the work done but they obviously claim it was not on the list. All service work in the past 6 years has been done by non vauxhall garages. I contacted the consumer rights to see if I had a claim and the answer was no. However, the fact is that if indeed the oil jet is responsible for the failures, then Vauxhall must be accountable in some way. I even offered compromise, ie I pay for the labour, Vauxhall provide the part ( by which ofcourse I mean the whole timing kit). The fact is, whether the car was serviced by approved garages or not, the part was not fit for reasonable wear, and worse still, there seems to be evidence of false assurances and claims being made by Vauxhall.
My question is, has anyone tried to make a legal or civil claim for damages or compensation against Vauxhall? If so was it successful?
