chain noise

Some times when I start my car it sounds like a diesel and have now noticed that on tick over the engine kind of hunts and seems a bit rattley.My guess from reading on here is the chain is about to give up,its a 2002 with 86000 miles..If so any recomendations who can replace it at resonable costs .I am in the farnborough hants area Thanks

he usually does cam chains for under £300 including parts

located J10 M6

if she is runnng lumpy at idle and rattling then it might well the timing is out and the chain has jumped

if it's rattling already get it replaced asap

if my brother as his z22se, replace as vocky says the sooner, noticed a significant improvement

be the balance chain you will need to do the cam chain as well. i got both chain kits supplied and fitted for £390 well worth it cant here it running now.

Had the chain done today by benny it had jumped 3 or 4 teeth on 1 cam sprocket.Cant recommend him enougth ,very helpful and chats as he make the job look so simple and at a price less trhen half vauxall charge,Car now runs and idles perfect .Been so lucky as I drove the car 140 miles to him today and about 400 miles in total

yeh getting the chain replaced by benny is prob one of the best things to do for the z22se

remember to give her regular oil changes as well
