anyone who has tried installing the game will realise that steam automatically download's the game off their servers rather than the installation dvds, this is a steam / valve glitch and millions of pc gamers are franticly trying to get this working
now i have worked out how to by pass it 😛
- install the game as normal until it starts to download off steam servers or says server busy
- on steam window click on file / settings / downloads & set region to united kingdom then steam will prompt to restart, let it resttart and re enter your password to get to where u before
- now type run in cmd to open a command prompt window
- in command prompt type "C:\Program Files\Steam\Steam.exe" -install E: where c:*.* is your directory folder for where steam is installed and E: is your dvd rom with cod mw2 installation dvd disc 1 is sitting
- follow on screen instructions and it should styart to install off the dvd rom now instead of downloading from steam servers
i think it has something to do with region locks on dvd's and steam servers
