i'm slowly stripping my 02 2.2se engine to rebuild due to er bit broken to put it mildly
(will post pics for a laugh at a later date )one piston + conrod SMASHED
and hole in the sump this is the damage i can find so far i'm not in a rush to rebuild
due to redundant/skint but i have been scouting for little bits and been intouch with
a bloke off of ebay with these (his reply to me)
a sump
a bare block with no crank
2 pistons and rods and that's about all I have atthe moment I'm afraid
I could do you these for £70 if you're intested?
it would be possible to send
the items but it is likely to cost £40 (ish)
the sump is very good as is
the block, it had done 79,000 miles and one of the big ends had gone causing it to knock, the bores are fine
the pistons and rods are from a
different engine, with if I remember
correctly 83,000 on. They are ok
but it had snapped the chain so there are small marks where the valves hit but they will go again and are perfect for an "economical" repair like yours
I would reccommend which ever way you go you replace the piston rings are they are really bad for looking fine but then smoking when it's too late and the engine all back together!
